Celebrate Freedom: First State Bank helps students pursue a variety of career paths through scholarship contribution

July is a month when we reflect on the countless freedoms we enjoy in this country. In that spirit, we are reminded of the financial freedom First State Bank has provided to many students as they pursue an education at St. Charles Community College.
Through our contribution to the St. Charles Community College Foundation scholarship fund, we are helping students like Joanne. Joanne’s full-time work as a developer in information technology led her to pursue an Associate of Applied Science degree in computer programming. She was very touched to be a scholarship recipient. Joanne says “getting a scholarship was very inspiring. It is very generous, and helps me feel better connected to my community. Knowing there are real people invested in me helps me to maintain focus.”
Congratulations, Joanne, on your degree. And, thank you for letting First State Bank be a part of your celebration!
