First State Bank named Brian Bredensteiner executive vice president of retail and customer engagement in March. The newest addition to the award-winning community bank, Bredensteiner has 27 years of financial expertise in a variety of industries. He leads efforts to innovate operations that enhance the customer experience as new technologies and digital resources are added to First State Bank’s business model.
“Emerging technologies in the banking industry are changing the way customers engage with us and how we do business,” said Bredensteiner. “With more digital and self-service options available, I am excited to work with our team to ensure we maintain personal connection and service to our customers.”
Bredensteiner’s experience includes banking and insurance management, regulatory compliance, accounting, audit, financial analysis, operations, asset management, and logistics. He ended a decade of service on First State Bank’s Board of Directors as he transitioned to this new role. As a CPA and former small business owner working with corporate, non-profit, and personal clients, Bredensteiner understands the challenges of local businesses. Coupled with a proficiency in financial software systems, he is uniquely qualified to lead the bank’s strategy to enhance customer convenience with system innovations while maintaining First State Bank’s personal focus.
“Brian is well-known and respected throughout the region. His natural leadership and professional reputation are a great fit to direct our efforts to enhance customer experience. He is a tremendous addition to our bank team,” said Luanne Cundiff, President and CEO of First State Bank.
Bredensteiner’s history of volunteerism and civic leadership aligns with First State Bank’s commitment to community. His previous and current service includes former board and leadership positions with professional, civic, non-profit, community and faith organizations.
A graduate of the University of Missouri-St. Louis, Bredensteiner holds a B.S. of Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting. He and his wife, Ann, have three children and live in St. Charles.
